Product Description:
- Cefixime It is an orally active third generation cephalosporin. Cefixime is a cephalosporin and cephalosporins work by using their beta-lactam rings to inhibit bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to the penicillin-binding proteins transpeptidases on bacteria. The inhibition of synthesis of the bacteria cell wall will cause lysis, particularly in fast growing organisms. It is highly active against Enterobacteriaceae, H. influenzae, Strep. pyogenes, and is resistant to many β-lactamases. It is longer acting. It has been used for respiratory, urinary, peri-dental, typhiod and biliary infections.
- Ofloxacin is a first generation fluoroquinolones. It has in vitro activity against a wide range of gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms. Ofloxacin is often bactericidal at concentrations equal to or slightly greater than inhibitory concentrations. Ofloxacin and involves inhibition of bacterial topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase (both of which are type II topoisomerases), enzymes required for DNA replication, transcription, repair and recombination.
